Pete Rose “Hit King” Baseball Academy in Houston, Texas announces Frank Thomas (HOF2014) and Tony Perez (HOF2000) has joined the Team and will serve as a Board Members!

May 4, 2016Houston, Texas – Local businessmen and professional baseball players here in Houston, Texas announced today that they are honored that Frank Thomas and Tony Perez have joined their Team. Frank and Tony will serve as Board Members and will be spending some time here in the Houston area as the Academy is being built. The business will be opening the first of its kind; Pete Rose “Hit King” Baseball Academy.

The Academy will focus on teaching kids the right way to play the game of baseball. Using proven professional techniques and professional coaches the Company plans to have a variety of offerings at their facility. Including but not limited to teaching, coaching, hitting, pitching, catching, strength and conditioning as well as after school tutoring to ensure kids are learning the value of education at a young age. The Academy will also serve as home to “Hit King” Teams that will compete on a local, National and International level.

Pete Rose himself will be in town on May 22nd and 23rd for a baseball tournament and golf outing. Due to short notice Frank and Tony will not be here but are looking forward to a visit real soon.

Frank was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2014 and Tony was inducted in 2000. Both of these gentlemen were fine examples of how the game should be played and continue to be fineexamples of how a great athlete conducts himself off the field and in the game of life!

Pete Rose finished his career being the all-time Major League leader in hits with 4,256, games played with 3,562, at bats with 14,053, singles with 3,215. Rose also won three World Series and three batting titles during his time in Major League Baseball. He also won one MVP award and two Gold Gloves.

Many people do not know this but Pete Rose also made 17 All-Star appearances at five different positions. No other player has been able to achieve this in their respective careers.

JRD4256 plans to open facilities in Houston, Cincinnati, Las Vegas, California, Florida and multiple other locations across the United States. All facilities will be under the brand of the Pete Rose “Hit King” Baseball Academy. Most locations will have a combination of premium fields to play and practice on along with indoor training facilities. The first location in the Houston area is scheduled to open in the fall of 2016.
